Apple Education Event Overview

Apple had an education event on Thursday. Below I will tell you what they released:

1. iBooks 2 - iBooks 2 is an update to iBooks. It allows iPad users to download textbooks. The books have interactive items. For example, you can get Life on Earth for free. It only gives you 2 chapters because the publisher has only created these so far. There are seven other textbooks currently. You can get the iBooks app for free on the iTunes App Store.

2. iBooks Author - iBooks Author is an application that allows you to create books on your Mac. You can add widgets such as Keynote presentations and Word documents. You can preview your books on your iPad. iBooks Author has a very clean interface. This is available for free in the Mac App Store.

3. iTunes U - iTunes U is an app that allows you to watch courses on your iPad. It tells you what materials you need like The Elements app. You can stream your videos or download them. You can get the app for free on the iTunes App Store.

I recommend it to students.
